In the centre of unusual events

The construction of the first class office building Plac Zamkowy – Business with Heritage is in progress at the Plac Zamkowy square. The neighbourhood of the construction site is also the location of unusual events with important state personalities and crowds of city dwellers.

The 25th anniversary of the 1989 elections was celebrated at Plac Zamkowy on the 4th July this year. The celebration was attended by leaders of many countries – the President of the United States – Barack Obama, Germany – Joachim Gauck, France – Francois Hollande, the Czech Republic – Milosz Zeman, Slovakia – Ivan Gasparowic and Hungary – Janos Ader, the President-elect of Ukraine – Petro Poroshenko, and the most important Polish politicians. The celebration was hosted by the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski. We were able to listen to speeches made by notable dignitaries, including the President of the United States, who charmed the audience that gathered at Plac Zamkowy both with his speech and some of the Polish phrases he used. After the official part the guests listened to a concert of Włodzimierz Pawlik, a Grammy award winner, who presented his work entitled ‘Freedom – a Jazz and Symphonic Suite’, which was composed especially for this occasion. At the end people could admire six F-16s flying over the Royal Route. The aircraft came from the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łasko near Łódź.
