Global experts for the investment Plac Zamkowy

During the last couple of days at the construction site of the investment Plac Zamkowy – Business with Heritage, we have witnessed the completion of the bridge construction of the building. The unique project was designed by eminent engineers from the Polish branch office of the famous ARUP company in collaboration with a team of specialists from the Warsaw University of Technology. The objective throughout has been to develop and perform a building construction in such a way as to avoid any contact with the East-West route tunnel and to spread the total weight of the facility as effectively as possible. Pre-stressed beams were used for this purpose, which are designed to transfer the load. An unusual element of the installation is the steel cables, made in the beam and placed in special sleeves, which after completion of the beams enabled an optimal stretch with specially-designed blocks, and thus compressed the reinforced concrete construction. This will counteract the beams bending under their own weight.

This is not the first such demanding project for the ARUP company. Its engineers have participated in designing a lot of highly prestigious buildings, such as the Sydney Opera House, the National Stadium in Beijing, Terminal 3 at Dubai airport, and the Egyptian Museum in Giza. In Poland, the company provided engineering services and supervised the construction of the curvilinear wall and glazed facade of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw.
