Nomination for Prime Property Prize
Plac Zamkowy – Business with Heritage has been nominated for an award in the category of Architecture at the fourth competition under the name of Prime Property Prize 2015, organized by the PTWP Group publisher of the Propertynews.pl portal. Thereby, it has been placed among the top commercial buildings which according to readers of the portal and the organizers of the contest bring innovative architecture and design, set new trends, and also are constructed with respect for the environment and the urban space.
The challenge of designing the nominated ‘Plac Zamkowy – Business with Heritage’ building in the vicinity of the symbol and pride of the capital, Warsaw’s Old Town, has been taken up by RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky. The preparation of the drawing up of the design was preceded by a thorough analysis of the photographs and descriptions of prewar Warsaw and arduous, lasting over thirty months consultation with the conservator. The necessity to build over the tunnel of the East-West route constituted an additional test. Special structure of the bridge was designed by the Polish branch of Ove Arup & Partners, an engineering company known for, among others, designing the Sydney Opera House.
Prime Property Prize Competition indicates companies and projects that in the last year had the greatest influence on events on the commercial real estate market, as well as personalities whose actions played a key role in the development of the industry. Prizes are awarded in 10 categories, among others, Man of the Year Propertynews.pl, City Friendly to Investors and Green Building. Last year the competition has been enhanced with a new categoryast year, a new category – Architecture was added to the competition. The organizers of the contest decided in this way decided to distinguish in this way the most technologically advanced projects.
This year’s Prime Property Prize for Architecture nominees include, apart from the ‘Plac Zamkowy – Business with Heritage’ project: Gdynia Waterfront, West Gate in Wroclaw, Dominikański office complex in Wrocławand Puro in Gdańsk. Last year, four Warsaw buildings competed for this award: Plac Unii, Green Wings, Cosmopolitan Twarda 2/4 and Chmielna 25. Poznań’s Puro Hotel also received a nomination. The winner was Plac Unii building.
