In the immediate vicinity there are numerous tenement houses and the monumental complex of a palace development: Pałac Biskupów Krakowskich in the south, Pałac Branickich in the west, and Pałac Małachowskich in the east. The route to the Old Town leads through the most presentable streets of Warsaw, from Belwederska Street, through Aleje Ujazdowskie, up to Nowy Świat and Krakowskie Przedmieście Streets. This picturesque route includes the frontages of important state institutions such as the Presidential Palace, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and the University of Warsaw. The most important sites and monuments of the capital city are located nearby, including the Teatr Wielki – the National Opera as well as many museums and art galleries.
The historical centre of Warsaw is also the site of luxurious hotels, restaurants and stores. The convenient location attracts over 11 million of tourists from all over the world every year. Plac Zamkowy with Sigismund’s Column is one of the most frequented sites for Warsaw residents and tourists.
